The movie is based on a real story, the story of cartoonist: Xiong Dun and her comic book Go Away, Mr. Tumor. The movie ranked No. 1 with 185 million Yen in the first week of its release. The movie will be shown during the 11th Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF). Although Xiong Dun has gone, the movie portrays the image of an optimistic and positive girl and her desire to live. Baihe Bai, who performed Xiong Dun, says the movie delivers very positive message and gives the audiences the courage to fight any “tumors” in their lives.
Actress Baihe Bai, who has been in several hit movies, with a cumulative box office gross of 3 billion Yuan, interpreted this character because it was different from all of her past roles. Baihe Bai is strong, humorous, and lovable in the movie.
Daniel Wu played the leading male character. He stopped accepting roles ever since his mother was diagnosed with cancer. However, the screenplay touched him. “If my mother hadn’t passed away, I would not have taken on the role. Had it not been for Xiong Dun’s story that touched me, I wouldn’t have accepted this role.
