During the 2017 Beijing International Film Festival, Chinese American Film Festival(CAFF) organized by EDI Media Inc. made an appearance and held the first “The 2017 13th Chinese American Film Festival Press Conference” on April 22nd at the Beijing International Hotel. Chairman of the Chinese American Film Festival James Su expressed that last year during the festival, CAFF attract over fifty famous celebrities from both China and the U.S., and over 500 outstanding Film and TV submissions from numerous production companies. During the Chinese American Film Festival Co-Production Summit co-organized with the State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television of People’s Republic of China (SAPPRFT), CAFF witnessed the birth of the first co-produced TV series. The Film Summit co-organized with the Producer’s Guild of America and Chinese Production companies, as well as Hollywood’s famous “Variety” magazine, attracted many top film production companies from both U.S. and China from the distribution and production sector. The Film & TV Market co-organized with China Film Co., and China Film Promotion International attracted nearly 300 Chinese and American corporations, in which all of them expressed immense enthusiasm towards the event. During the “Eastern Night” Outstanding Participation in Film/TV Exhibition, Chinese TV and Film copyright transactions were being completed. A series of data have demonstrated that the Chinese American Film Festival not only promote the cultural exchange between U.S. and China, but have also reaped the rewards for the pragmatic cooperation of Film and TV industries between U.S. and China. The 13th Chinese American Film Festival will continue to showcase outstanding Chinese films on the International platform that Hollywood offers, and encourage the growth for both China and US film markets with the rapid rising of the Chinese economy, and continue to bridge the cultural gap and boost the cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese American Film Festival Co-Production Summit co-organized by the Producers Guild of America, China Film Corporation, China Film Production Companies will continue to be held in the United States Paramount Pictures. The Chinese American Film Festival Committee will co-organize the “Short Film” category with the China Film Promotion International.
The 13th Chinese American Film Festival will be held between October 29th to November 30th, a month long of film related events, seminars and over 200 screenings in Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Las Vegas and so on across America, to build a broader platform for the Film & TV industries in both China and U.S.

During the press conference, CAFF Organizing Committee issued the “Chinese American Film Festival Honorary Consultant” Certificate to the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture’s Principal, senior professor, doctoral tutor, member of the State Board of Education Arts Education Committee, famous Chinese Film Artist, Professor Huang Huilin. Also to the famous actress Tao YuLing, who has created many memorable characters on screen including Chun Ni from the “Sentinel under the Neon Lights, and Er MeiZi from the “The Story of Liu Bao”. The Organizing Committee is issuing this privilege once again after last year’s famous art performer Qin Yi. The Chairman of the Chinese American Film Festival James Su said: the essence of outstanding traditional cultures and film art should be passed down from generation to generation. The contribution from the older generation of artists made to the film industry are most worthy of our respect. About Chinese American Film Festival:
The Chinese American Film Festival is organized by EDI Media, supported by the State Administration of China National Press, Publication, Radio, film and Television (SAPPRFT) and America’s Motion Picture Association, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the U.S., CAFF has received letters of Recognition signed by two Former U.S. Presidents, Obama and Bush. CAFF is also the only China-US Cultural exchange event to be formally written in the U.S. Congress report, as a part of U.S. History. CAFF is one of the first to be recorded in the 7th Round of China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and Cultural Activities as a national event. Since 2014, CAFF has been issuing the “Most Popular American Film in China” on behalf of the SAPPRFT to the major studios in the U.S. Each year there are over 300 Film & TV production companies network and cooperate through the platform of the Chinese American Film Festival. There are over 500 outstanding films being screened every year with an audience of over one million people.
CAFF Organizing Committee has set up “China’s Outstanding TV Series Golden Angel Award” to provide a broader platform for the cooperation in the TV industries; there are over a hundred TV series participating in the screenings and the film festival submissions. G&E Studio in United States will broadcast the entire Chinese American Film Festival Award Ceremony. Over 50 countries and regions from North America, Europe, and Asia will be able to witness the CAFF festivities. The grand kick off for the 13th Chinese American Film Festival will begin on November 1st.
