The organizer of the Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF), EDI Media, held its second press conference for the 12th CAFF at Crowne Plaza Shanghai on 13th June, 2016. During this official event of Shanghai International Film Festival, the committee of CAFF addressed the highlights of the coming 12th CAFF (2016)
1. CAFF was the very first event to be elected as National Program of Sino- US Cultural Exchange, and once again listed as one of the high-level Sino-US cultural events this year.
2. Committee of China Micro Motion Pictures Association of China Film Association officially became part of the 12th CAFF to promote the internationalization of China-US micro motion pictures.
3. The 12th CAFF invited Qin Yi, a renowned 94-year-old artist, as honorary consultant.
4. Weiwei Tan, a well-known Chinese singer will sing the theme song at the grand opening ceremony of the 12th CAFF, at Hollywood, Los Angeles.
5. The committee of CAFF announced the establishment of the official Club for CAFF, the “CAFF Movie Club”, which will provide filmmakers and friends of CAFF from both nations with prestigious services through a membership system. The members will have the chance to get close contact with industry leaders. The “CAFF Movie Club” is aiming to promote the movie industry.
6. The official WeChat account of CAFF has launched.

During the entire month of November from 31st Nov. to 30th Nov. 2016, there will be over 10 characteristic large special film events and seminars with over 200 film screenings in Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities all over America. On 31st Oct. there will be a welcome banquet hosted by CAFF. On the 1st of Nov. Chinese American Film Festival Co-production Summit is co-hosted by the Producer Guild of America and CAFF. On Nov. 2nd, the Golden Angel Award Ceremony, Red Carpet and the grand opening ceremony will take place; CAFF will hold a series of professional academic forums at US major films companies and more than 20 universities to all over America to provide a professional platform to filmmakers from both nations.

Chinese American Film Festival is jointly supported by State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the US Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA), and the Chinese Consulate at Los Angeles and San Francisco. CAFF is the only US-China cultural exchange project appraised by two US presidents, President Bush and President Obama, in writing. And CAFF once again was elected as one of the high-level Sino-US cultural events in Round 7 of year of 2016. At the meanwhile, CAFF is the first US-China cultural film activity formally recorded in the annual report of the 112 U.S. Congress, and becoming a part of the U.S. Congressional history. The committee of CAFF set the Golden Angel Award to award the best Chinese TV Dramas, which provide a cooperation platform to TV drama makers, there was over 100 TV dramas participating CAFF for competition.
