The film explores the architecture and the rich history of Mazar village in the Toyuk Valley. The people in Toyuk build their own houses. They are surrounded by mountains on all sides, hence the name Toyuk, which in Uyghur means, the impassable road. They have houses that are hundreds of years old. The people living in the village never want to leave the village because of a strong connection to their roots. The architecture is inspired by both Han and Islamic culture, hence, we find elements of both in their houses. The place suffers from extremes of climate, so their houses are built keeping it in mind. The water flowing in the village, coming from Tianshen Mountain has the settlement growing around it. It is the source of life and its exploration to the people of the village.
