The lacquerware is a craft known around the world. We can meet them in different countries in own appearance, style and feature. But what stands behind each of them?

China is the first country in the world to use lacquer. As the central area of the distribution of Chinese lacquer trees, Chengkou has a history of making lacquerware for more than 3,000 years, and wins a title «the hometown of Chinese raw lacquer». This is the story how Chengkou lacquerware started as a utilitarian need and became its own art form known around the world.

在重庆与陕西四川交界之处，有这样一座小城，它是中国四大名漆大木漆的产地，它的名字叫做城口。在当地，由大木漆制作而成的漆器名为山神漆器。城口山神漆器有着上百年的出口历史，而在上百年的历史背后，则是一代代割漆匠人与漆器匠人的传承坚守。这一次，我们的影片就将聚焦在城口这座深山中的小镇中，来探寻城口漆器、山神漆器、中国漆器与世界的故事。
